Wedding Wednesday #21: Progress Update - Just a month to go!

I'm sure there are brides out there, like me, who maybe always wait until the last minute to do everything? Maybe it's what motivates us? I don't really recommend this method. Be more prepared than I am. I was fortunate enough to have had a three day weekend and I got some lofty goals accomplished - not all of them, unfortunately, but most of them.

It probably seems like I'm stressed out over nothing, because I have the rest of April, right? No. Not at all. I'm going up to Chicago this weekend to see James (very important though). Next weekend is a reception for my boss followed by work on Sunday. The weekend after that? Vintage Torque Fest (car show and pinup contest) and my birthday. I thought I had planned this better. Seemingly, not. Yet, I made the most out of my weekend.

To date I have:
  • Addressed and mailed the first batch of invitations.
  • Assembled most of the flowers for my bouquet.
  • Made hair and makeup appointments for me and my maid of honor on the day of the wedding.
  • Discussed more details with the officiant.
  • Purchased veil to fix my vintage hat/fascinator.

I'm working steadily on the bouquets - my main concern - throughout the week. I hope to have them finished (at least mine and the maid of honors) by next week sometime. Thankfully, after I had assembled several of the flowers I placed them together in a mock bouquet to realize my original design idea wouldn't work. I would have to alter my design which, wonderfully, reduces the number of flowers I will have to make. I will have a smaller bouquet than anticipated but I will also have enough supplies for the toss bouquet. That's fabulous! I'm so glad I don't have to buy something else - for bouquets at least.

I'm so pleased with my accomplishments so far. Maybe I should unearth my Martha Stewart checklist that I seem to have abandoned/lost to better chart my course. I feel right on track, though, and I'm so excited! Have a great Wednesday!

Miss Liz
