Symco Shakedown 2014

'63 Studebaker Lark pinstriped & painted by Allen Yuhasz
Sorry to have missed two posts (and almost a third) last week - I left Wednesday for the Symco Shakedown in Symco, Wisconsin.  James and I rode with pin striper, Allen Yuhasz, in his awesomely painted '63 Studebaker - white body with olive green stripes, bright green lace panels, emerald green metal flake roof, and his own pinstriping on both the hood and trunk of the car. It was a car that everyone looked at, stopped and took its picture at the show. Additionally, it was tons of fun to ride to the show in a classic car!

Of course for this show I got to see Carmen Lee again! She was selling awesome vintage goods at her Big Star Vintage booth - she took sometime out to stroll around and take pictures! :)

It's a pink party!

This car show was an awesome two day show: several concerts on at least two different stages, a swap meet, vendors, and different events throughout the day in addition to all the cars/car clubs on display.  Attendees are allowed to camp with tents or campers (the vintage kind of course!) and there are showers available. The town of Symco where the show is held is actually a large lot with buildings from other farms constructed to resemble a small town. Both bizarre and awesome - it's the perfect backdrop for a carshow!

A schoolhouse

and its playground of doom - the merry-go-round was awesome!

I was able to spend a lot of time with James (and Allen). Likewise, James introduced me to more people and I made some new friends!

See you next year at Symco Shakedown 2015!
